The Old Hickory Waterside Markets are new to Lac du Bonnet. Starting in the summer of 2022, the Lac du Bonnet CDC partnered with the Manitoba Made Store, Old Hickory Buildings, and the Rural Municipality of Lac du Bonnet to create a unique pop-up market shopping experience at Fernwood Boat Launch.
In February, the CDC played an instrumental role in connecting the RM of Lac du Bonnet with Valley Fiber, which was interested in installing its Fiber Optic Network in the RM to provide residents and businesses with the world’s fastest internet.
The Lac du Bonnet CDC was approached by Noel Linsey, a documentary filmmaker and photographer interested in creating a motorcycle road trip travel series for release on YouTube. The plan was to start and end each road trip video in Lac du Bonnet and feature the road less travelled and the places less known. Every video promotes Lac du Bonnet by starting and ending here, encouraging travellers to eat, sleep, shop and visit while visiting the rest of the region.
The LdB Tourism Cafe is designed to be an open forum for Lac du Bonnet businesses & non-profit organizations in the tourism industry to connect, share, and collaborate on projects.

Starting in November and running until Christmas Eve, the Lac du Bonnet CDC featured the Holiday Gift Guide, a digital campaign to encourage local spending through the holidays. The Lac du Bonnet CDC looks forward to making this a yearly project, featuring new businesses and non-profit organizations within the community and helping promote local shopping during the holiday season.
The Great Outdoors Expo and Market is a project designed to engage the business community, residents and visitors while creating a revenue stream for the operations of the Lac du Bonnet CDC.

Since July 2020, the Lac du Bonnet CDC has been working with 16 local organizations to investigate the development of an Event Park in Lac du Bonnet that would provide infrastructure for our outdoor event organizers, increase tourism, and create a shared, multi-user space.
