The Series Begins

Starting in April and releasing every two weeks, Noel has been designing routes and filming his adventures across the Province. Every route begins and ends in Lac du Bonnet, and riders who want to take the trips themselves are also encouraged to start and end their trips in our community.

You can view all the Epic Rides MB videos on YouTube, but two episodes you won’t want to miss are here for you to check out.

Epic Rides MB: Lac du Bonnet Canada Day Special Part 1

Lac du Bonnet is the start and finish point for all of this season’s routes, and there’s a very good reason for that. The town of #lacdubonnet may be considered an undiscovered gem for many visitors to the province, but it should be billed as the crowned jewel for #manitoba destination #tourism. With so many fantastic landmarks, people, events and businesses to explore, I decided to showcase Lac du Bonnet on one of the busiest weekends of the year – #canadaday, to show off everything this town has to offer! Any trip to Lac du Bonnet should also include a trip out to Blueberry Rock for a great hike and some killer views. We also check out the town’s #fireworks display, and I check out the fair… Enjoy!

Epic Rides MB: Lac du Bonnet Canada Day Special Part 2

Lac du Bonnet is the start and finish point for all of this season’s routes, and there’s a very good reason for that. In part 2 of our Lac du Bonnet Canada Day special, we visit the fair, I get distracted by fudge at the farmers market, and we go to visit one of the coolest sites in Manitoba – Old Pinawa Dam, which definitely has a post-apocalyptic vibe to it. If you’ve been waiting for a reason to visit Lac du Bonnet, look no further than our Canada Day Special.

January

Project Start

In January, the Lac du Bonnet CDC was approached by Noel Linsey, a documentary filmmaker and photographer interested in creating a motorcycle road trip series for release on YouTube.

The Lac du Bonnet CDC Economic Development Officer worked with Noel in 2021 during the Experiential Tourism Training Project through Eastman Tourism and recognized the potential a project like this could bring to the community. The plan was to start and end each road trip video in Lac du Bonnet and feature the road less travelled and the places less known. Every video promotes Lac du Bonnet by starting and ending here, encouraging travellers to eat, sleep, shop and visit while visiting the rest of the region.

The Lac du Bonnet CDC’s Role in this Project

The Lac du Bonnet CDC worked with Noel to help connect him with businesses in the community and with other Community Development Corporations and Destination Marketing Organizations in Eastern Manitoba. From time to time, the CDC will connect Noel with residents for interviews to be included in Epic Rides Episodes and provide Noel with information about the Lac du Bonnet sites he is interested in visiting.
