Full Job Description

Granite Mountain Stone Design is seeking a reliable, well-organized, and hardworking individual to join our team as a Material Inventory Coordinator. As the company expands, you will have the opportunity to grow with us and utilize your unique skill set to organize, keep track, and pull back slabs from the slab yard for customer viewing or slab fabrication.

As a Material Inventory Coordinator, you will be responsible for organizing, tracking, loading, and transporting quartz and natural stone slabs to the shop from the adjacent slab yard. You may also be required to occasionally pick up slabs from suppliers based in Winnipeg using company trucks. This role requires someone who can consistently complete standardized work, communicate effectively, and solve problems quickly and logically. You will be an essential part of a team that strives to achieve company goals and maintain high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Photograph incoming stone slabs and assign inventory numbers and labels.

  • Apply labels to slabs and organize them in the slab yard using SlabSmith software.

  • Pull slabs from the slab yard based on customer orders.

  • Inspect slabs prior to fabrication and ensure quality control checks are performed.

  • Use a job tracking system to keep accurate records and details of stone slabs.

  • Load and unload stone slabs using a crane and/or forklift.

  • Maintain a clean work area and equipment.

  • Work in a safe manner that complies with all safety guidelines.

  • Contribute to team effort and complete other duties as required or assigned.

  • Perform quick and logical problem-solving as last-minute measurements and adjustments may be required on-site.

  • Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients, in the shop, and when driving company vehicles.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on superior organizational skills.

  • Self-starter who can work in a fast-paced work environment.

  • A positive attitude with a dedication to teamwork and overarching company goals.

  • Excellent logical problem-solving and communication skills are a must.

  • Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.

  • Familiarity with forklift operations is an asset.

  • General computer knowledge is essential.

  • Understanding the importance of attendance and punctuality.

  • Willingness to work overtime as required to maintain production schedules.

  • Willingness to learn and provide feedback to management and other team members regarding process improvements.

  • Experience working in the industry is an asset but not required.

  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license is required.
