Full Job Description

Reporting to the Economic Development Officer (EDO) and working with the Board of Directors and community volunteers, the Marketing Assistant will support various marketing and business development projects undertaken by the Lac du Bonnet CDC. The primary responsibilities include writing copy for digital marketing platforms, creating image captions, visiting local tourist attractions to capture photography and video, planning and hosting events, helping coordinate volunteers, and maintaining basic website updates.

Remote Position: The Lac du Bonnet CDC operates in the community of Lac du Bonnet. The position will require the Marketing Assistant to travel within the community to visit attractions and attend events. In-office hours will be conducted remotely, with email and Zoom as the main means of communication. Work files and common resources are shared using OneDrive.

The Marketing Assistant must have use of a computer, word/excel program, and an internet connection is required. Photography and video equipment will be supplied.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the EDO and the Board in maintaining a Strategic Plan by completing tasks and activities from within the plan. Provide input and suggestions on how the tasks will be completed.
  • Assist the EDO in implementing and maintaining Event Specific operational budgets.
  • Attend Board and Committee meetings and community-hosted forums held by the CDC.
  • Prepare documents, information, and reports for the EDO and Board.
  • Be an ex-officio member of and support the Board of Directors and any ad-hoc committees of the Board.
  • Represent the Lac du Bonnet CDC at meetings or while working at events in the community.
  • Assist the EDO with the marketing strategy.
  • Visit tourist destinations, businesses, and events in Lac du Bonnet to capture videography and photography and create written content about these locations.
  • Assist with the continued development of digital marketing platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Driftscape, Websites, and more, by writing content and capturing photographic and video content for these platforms.
  • Communicate regularly with the EDO, Committee Members, Board Members and volunteers.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with artists, vendors, sponsors, and volunteers who work with the CDC at its planned events.
  • Assist the EDO and Volunteer Coordinator in recruiting volunteers for various events and positions and maintain the Volunteer Coordination Plan.
  • Assist the EDO and Event Committees in organizing and hosting regular community events and programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by the EDO or Board of Directors

Experience

  • *No experience is necessary, but the following are assets*

  • Amature to Advanced Photography and Videography Skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of relevant marketing tools and applications is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Competency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).

  • Digital Literacy.
