Responsibilities of Experienced Miner
Operates LHD vehicle, loading and dumping at designated locations, cleans and grades roadways etc.
Operates rock truck, dumping at designated locations.
Operates dozer to maintain roadways.
Operates rockbreaker at designated locations, maintains area ground orepasses, installs guards when leaving the orepass area.
Operates aerial lifts, scales, inspects ground conditions, and bolts if necessary.
Operates, moves and sets up drill jumbos and or the longhole drill in designated areas throughout the mine.
Maintains safety devices, signs, barricades, etc.
Installs and maintains ventilation tubing.
Installs and maintains compressed air and water lines.
Determines explosives requirements, procures explosives, detonators and accessories, loads and primes, connects blast, ensures tools and equipment are securely placed to prevent blast damage, guard and blasts.
Uses various rock drills to drill service holes.
Assists maintenance personnel as required.
Performs grouting operations.
Sets up, monitors and operates pneumatic and electric face and portable sump pumps.
Scales and cleans coarse ore bins and loading pockets.
Constructs bulkheads, grizzlies, and performs other construction projects in the mine and the shaft as assigned.
Assists in or performs shaft inspection and repairs, cleaning spill pocket, mucking shaft bottom, and operates shaft signals to determine position of bucket.
Work with minimal supervision.
Ability to lift, bend, twist in performing the functions, frequent walking and standing for extended periods of time and exposure to noise and odors.
