Join us for the CDC’s First AGM

The Lac du Bonnet Community Development Corporation (CDC) is hosting its AGM and Meet and Greet on August 5, 2020.

We have some great community projects that we would love to show you and even more initiatives and projects on the go that we would love to discuss with you.

If you own a business or work with a non-profit organization, the CDC is open and ready to work for you! We are committed to partnering with entrepreneurs and volunteers to build Lac du Bonnet with a strong focus on preserving and growing our local business community, increasing tourism, and promoting Lac du Bonnet as a highly desired place to live, work, play, and invest.

The CDC AGM is the perfect opportunity to meet the CDC team, learn about the accomplishments to date, contribute ideas for the future, and find out how the CDC can offer support to you.

Join the Board of Directors, We’d Love to have you!

We have three, two-year term, elected Director positions available on our Board. If you are interested in representing Lac du Bonnet; and working towards the vision to make our community a highly desired and vibrant place to live, visit, work, and invest; then you may be the right person for the job.

Participation, Responsibilities, and Qualifications

Participation on the Board requires a minimum commitment of 10 to 15 hours/month.

The Board of Directors is responsible for setting the social, environmental, and economic objectives for the CDC based on the Municipal Strategic Plan and initiatives and carrying out the goals of the CDC as outlined in the Strategic Plan. Directors must be committed and willing to allocate time to the office, as the Board is a critical element of success for the CDC.

In order to serve Lac du Bonnet effectively, we want the Board to represent a cross-section of community leaders and stakeholders, who poses the skill and expertise to provide leadership, direction and decision-making for the activities of the CDC.

Qualified Directors must have knowledge of economic/community development strategies, as they relate to commerce, economics, marketing, community development, business development, project management, and communications.

Preference will be given to directors who are a resident or ratepayer of or a person who owns and operates a business within, the Rural Municipality of Lac du Bonnet.

How to Apply

If you would like to put your name up for nomination to the CDC Board, please submit a written resume that outlines your skills and the expertise that you will lend to the CDC, along with a short 100 to 150-word Bio. Your information must be received by August 12, 2020. Those who have not submitted the required information by the deadline, will not be considered for election or appointment to the Board of Directors.

All nominations for the Board will be reviewed by the Nomination Committee. All qualified nominations will be delivered to the Shareholder for the election process on August 25, 2020 at the Annual Shareholder Meeting.
